About Hydrantly
Hydrantly is two free documents for the fire inspection round and the guides that explain what each system's inspection covers, run by Ellul Solutions Ltd. Everything on the site is either something you type in or an interval taken from a regulation that is named and linked where it is used.
Why this site exists
This site exists because the software a fire contractor is sold is usually a field service suite with the word fire in the marketing. Those are built round a job: somebody schedules it, somebody does it, somebody bills it. A fire inspection business is built round an interval instead, and the interval is not a preference, it is in 29 CFR 1910 and in the standard the AHJ enforces. A product that does not derive the next date from the system is asking a person to remember it, which is where the missed visit comes from.
Who it is for
For the owner of a US fire protection contractor with technicians on the road, and the facilities manager who holds the building's inspection file.
Not for a general trades contractor wanting a dispatch board, not for a fire department, and not for a homeowner buying an extinguisher.
What it does not do
- It publishes no fire code and no rule text, and it does not tell you whether a system passes. The standard the AHJ enforces decides that, and the licensed inspector in front of the system applies it.
- It does not design or size fire protection systems, and it is not a substitute for the engineer who does.
- It sells no equipment, ranks no vendors and carries no affiliate links.
What is on this site
2 free tools, each working its figure on the page with no account, and Hydrantly Pro that keeps the record. All tools · Pricing.
What Hydrantly Pro keeps
Pro keeps the round: the buildings, the systems, the due dates and the deficiencies, so the schedule builds itself and nothing falls off the end of a year.
Who answers for it
Joe Ellul-Turner, Director, Ellul Solutions Ltd.
